Anglesey is a real foodie’s destination and it gets better and better. Here we have picked a few destinations out of dozens available. For more information on all things food on Anglesey, visit the Best of Anglesey website. You can download their Anglesey food map here.

For super quality food, honest, extremely well cooked, go no further – The Marram Grass is on our doorstep, only 5 minutes away (but on the pricey end). Dylan’s at Menai Bridge provides a varied menu that includes locally caught fish and shell fish as well as pizza and pasta dishes; while the Gaerwen Arms has changed hands recently and is serving really nice gastro-pub food (reasonably priced and only 10 minutes away)

Recently we have been to the new Midlands Tapas and Wine Bar in Beaumaris (more than once or twice!) – it’s fabulous, lively, stylish, super friendly and the food is excellent!

We have also visited the Boathouse at Red Wharf Bay, which features locally caught fish and shell fish, including Lobster, at a very reasonable price. Lunchtime bar meals at the Oyster Catcher in Rhosneigr have been enjoyable; although we haven’t eaten at the restaurant yet we’ve heard very good reports.

Other tried and tested options:

Pier House Bistro – Located opposite Beaumaris pier, this is a lovely relaxed bistro with beautiful views over the sea. They serve food all day until 9pm.

Tredici Italian Kitchen – super fresh Italian food and is located above its very own deli and butchers on the high street.

The Tavern on the Bay, Red Wharf Bay – Located inside St David’s caravan park, it is a very good family option, with lots of space, a playground and fantastic views over the sea.

Hydeout – BBQ grill and smokehouse in Menai Bridge. Lots and lots of top quality local meat, cooked many ways. The boys particularly love it!
